meet Kathy!
I’m so happy you’re here
Your go-to-gal for all things fitness over 50 + lover of great food and Chardonnay!
That’s me over there with the purple sunglasses, just having finished a 5K with my son, Robert. I was 61. (He finished way sooner than I did…..)
The other picture is the day I married the love of my life in 2008, at the age of 52. And I met him in 1977!!
Here’s the thing!
I Inspire Women Over 50 to Take Control of Health and Fitness—For Good
For women who’ve struggled with diets, fads, and fitness programs that just don’t stick, I offer something different: a path to lasting change that starts from within. I believe true transformation happens when we reframe our mindset around health and fitness. My approach helps you cut through the overwhelm, ditch “all-or-nothing” thinking, and adopt simple, effective habits that fit your life and build confidence along the way.
Through a three-step framework, we’ll start by reshaping your mindset around fitness and health, freeing you from the limiting beliefs that say you’re too old, too busy, or just not able to reach your goals. Then, we’ll work on practical, actionable strategies that allow you to build consistency—even when life gets hectic. From short, realistic workouts to micro-habits that keep you moving forward, I’ll guide you toward routines that are rewarding and sustainable.
Finally, I’ll equip you with the tools to stay on track for the long haul, so you’re able to make choices that align with your goals and lifestyle. My clients don’t just achieve physical fitness; they feel more at home in their bodies and gain the confidence to pursue what matters to them with renewed energy. This isn’t a quick fix—this is a lifestyle shift designed to help you feel strong, healthy, and inspired, in fitness and in life.
Why I Started Phase Two Fitness
For a long time, I thought my mission was to help women over 50 feel better about themselves—more confident, more consistent, more at peace in their bodies.
That’s still true.
But one day, on a walk with my voice recorder, I caught a deeper truth—one I almost missed.
It’s not just about helping women feel better. It’s about freeing them up to live the lives they’ve quietly longed for.
When a woman is no longer weighed down by shame…
When she stops being at war with her habits, her body, or her identity…
She doesn’t just feel better.
She becomes available—to herself, to her joy, to her purpose.
That might look like:
🌸Walking with a friend who’s struggling
🌸Helping a child in her community learn to read
🌸Finally booking the trip she’s talked about for years
🌸Painting again. Reading again. Dreaming again.
This isn’t about becoming useful to others by abandoning yourself.
It’s about reclaiming space in your mind, your day, and your identity—
So you can say yes to the life you were meant for.
That’s what Phase Two Fitness is really about.
The Truth I Almost Missed
I’ve had the name Phase Two Fitness in my head since 2014.
Back then, I was mostly thinking strength training, nutrition, and traditional weight loss—but for women over 50. Which, at the time, felt like a radical idea.
I knew I wanted to help women like me.
But I held back. I let fear and “who-am-I-to-do-this?” thinking keep me quiet.
So I stayed behind the scenes. I tinkered. I second-guessed.
And honestly? I thought I’d missed my chance.
But here’s what I’ve realized:
The delay wasn’t failure. It was preparation.
Over the past several years, I’ve learned things I didn’t even know I needed to know—
about identity, behavior change, mindset, neuroscience, and how midlife can feel like a beautiful but brutal plot twist.
And the truth is, I couldn’t have built this version of Phase Two back then.
Because this version isn’t just about weight loss.
It’s about showing up for yourself with curiosity instead of criticism.
It’s about lasting change—not starting over.
I’m still walking that path, right alongside the women I serve.
Still learning. Still lifting. Still figuring it out.
But this time, I’m not hiding.
