As you can no doubt tell, I LOVE Jessica Smith’s walking workouts! They are absolutely perfect for beginners, or those who want lower impact workouts. The above are all more or less walking workouts, but with different emphases.
I have all of these (and more!) and could not recommend Jessica more highly. She has a great, upbeat personality and definitely keeps me interested. Most workouts are around 30 minutes long.
Plus, they’re relatively inexpensive to boot! Don’t let the fact that they are walking DVDs fool you. They’re surprisingly robust.

This one is great if you want the whole program totally worked out for you. Complete with walking, strength, flexibility, and other cardio workouts.

Cathe Friedrich Perfect Pump
Cathe Friedrich finally came out with a 30-minute series. Thank goodness! I love her workouts but many are just too long for me.

Another in the “Perfect” series by Cathe Friedrich. This is your 30-minute cardio workout. Highly recommended!
Above are some more workouts I love. Yes, Jessica Smith again! Plus a couple of Cathe Freidrich. Always a favorite as well, though her workouts tend to be longer than I like. So, I was VERY happy to see that she came out with a new series a year ago that has 30-minute workouts. You see two of them above; there’s also one for yoga-type flexibility called Perfect Flow.
Walk Strong 3, the first one pictured above has 20 different workouts. You’ll never get bored with this set. There’s every type in there, too. I think you’ll love it.
Equipment
Dumbbells and bands are my favorite pieces of equipment, along with a step and maybe a Swiss ball. Below you’ll find some of my very favorites, and the great thing is, none of them cost an arm and a leg!
The best thing about bands (there are several kinds) is that they are relatively inexpensive, lightweight, and take up very little space. You can’t go wrong with that.
And they’re very effective to boot!
