Some of my favorite workouts, equipment, tools, and books all about fitness. I workout exclusively at home (or outside when the weather is nice), so these are all accessible and some are free!
DVD Walking Workouts
As you can no doubt tell, I LOVE Jessica Smith’s walking workouts! They are absolutely perfect for beginners, or those who want lower impact workouts. The above are all more or less walking workouts, but with different emphases.
I have all of these (and more!) and could not recommend Jessica more highly. She has a great, upbeat personality and definitely keeps me interested. Most workouts are around 30 minutes long.
Plus, they’re relatively inexpensive to boot! Don’t let the fact that they are walking DVDs fool you. They’re surprisingly robust.
Above are some more workouts I love. Yes, Jessica Smith again! Plus a Cathe Freidrich. Always a favorite as well, though her workouts tend to be longer than I like.
Walk Strong 3, the first one pictured above has 20 different workouts. You’ll never get bored with this set. There’s every type in there, too. I think you’ll love it.
Dumbbells and bands are my favorite pieces of equipment, along with a step and maybe a Swiss ball. Below you’ll find some of my very favorites, and the great thing is, none of them cost an arm and a leg!
The best thing about bands (there are several kinds) is that they are relatively inexpensive, lightweight, and take up very little space. You can’t go wrong with that.
And they’re very effective to boot!
